I developed a love of gardens and Gardening when I was just 8 years old. In the school holidays I’d go with my mother to the University Halls of Residence in Oadby, Leicester, where she was a cleaner. On the same campus are the Botanical Gardens where I was in awe of flowers and plants from all over the world.
I got to known Gardeners really well and Mum would often come home with a cutting of some exotic plant. I’d be happy all day long as a kid mowing and weeding the garden. Mum would come out late in the afternoon with a cheese & onion sarnie and a cup of tea. She’d say something like “Oh our Michael that looks lovely” in the next breath she might say “Where’s my Salvia Splendens!”. “Err, I thought it was just a twig Mum” I’d reply sheepishly.
When I’m gardening I ‘lose’ myself. Doing the work is almost second nature now and my mind doesn’t bother with lifes’ worries. I might daydream a little but in essence I feel very content. The only other time I feel like that is on a golf course but I can’t control the outcome as well LOL.
I operate an extremely hardworking, great value service. With great attention to detail we have a thorough approach to our work as Leicester gardeners. I have undertaken gardening work for many years and have also gained valuable personal skills running a wide range of businesses.
